A working
blueberry farm
on the upper
Santa Fe River.

Welcome

Nestled along the upper Santa Fe River in Alachua County, Florida, River & Root Farm is a working blueberry farm rooted in the traditions of Old Florida agriculture and guided by a vision for regenerative land stewardship.

For more than four decades, blueberries have been grown on this land. Today River & Root continues that legacy while expanding opportunities for community connection, education, and farm-based experiences.

We believe farms are more than places where food is grown. They are places where people reconnect with the soil, the seasons, and each other. — Rebecca & David

Our farm offers seasonal u-pick blueberries, fresh berries grown without synthetic inputs, and the chance to walk the orchard, wander through bamboo groves, and experience a landscape shaped by Florida’s natural rhythms.

What we stand for

Stewards of forty years of blueberry harvest — and everything the land asks of us next.

Grown without synthetic inputs

The farm has been free of synthetic inputs since early 2023 and is transitioning toward organic certification as we learn the land.

Family-supported stewardship

Rebecca, David, Anna, Ivan, Kosmos, Sasha — and the Tuthill family — share in the daily life of this farm.
